🚀🪼 Rocket Watch — Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 26, 2026

Rocket Watch is a rocket-launch tracking app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android. This policy explains what information the app does and does not handle. In short: Rocket Watch does not collect, store, or share any personal information about you.

Information we collect

None. Rocket Watch has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no analytics or advertising SDKs. We do not collect your name, email, contacts, device identifiers, or usage data.

Location

Rocket Watch can use your approximate location for one purpose: deciding which launches are close enough to you to be worth an alert. If you allow it, the app reads a coarse (reduced-accuracy) position while it is open and compares it with each launch site on your device. That position is kept only on your device and is never sent to us or to anyone else. You can decline the permission or turn off "Only Launches Near Me" in Settings at any time; without it, alerts follow the launch site you are viewing. Launch, weather, and sky-condition insights themselves are based on the fixed coordinates of each launch site — not on where you are.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, Rocket Watch schedules launch-alert reminders locally on your device (using the system's notification and alarm services). These notifications are generated on-device and are not sent through, or routed to, any server we operate.

Purchases

The Android app is free and has no purchases. On iPhone, iPad and Mac, the optional "Rocket Watch Pro" unlock is a one-time purchase (Individual or Family) processed entirely by Apple through the App Store — there is no subscription or renewal. Rocket Watch never sees or stores your payment details. Your purchase status is managed by Apple and read on-device via Apple's StoreKit. The Family option can be shared with your family via Settings ▸ [your name] ▸ Family Sharing.

Third-party services

To show upcoming launches, weather, and daylight data, the app requests public information from the following services. These requests contain no personal data beyond the standard network information (such as your IP address) inherent to any internet connection, which each provider handles under its own policy:

Live streams. When you tap "Watch the stream" or "Watch the pad camera live", the video plays inside the app using YouTube's embedded player. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you tap, and once it loads YouTube (Google) may receive your IP address and standard device information under Google's privacy policy. Rocket Watch itself does not receive or store any of it.

Children

Rocket Watch is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.

Data retention

Because we collect no personal data, there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Any app settings are stored only on your device and are removed when you delete the app.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
